The Charm Of Interaction Between Classic Myth And Folk Myth

Kuafu myth in Lingbao developed from an ancient myth into a cultural phenomenon, which lasts long and with deep inside. This cultural phenomenon is unique in Central Plains culture. Whether in books or in the oral folk heritage of myths it's certain that Kuafu myth did take place here and only here Kuafu chased the sun and finally became a place named Deng Lin. Kuafu myth has a broad coverage and a deep impact in Lingbao, therefore, which shows the local culture does have an irreplaceable advantage.It is based on myths and legends of Kuafu as the center and the interrelated scenes as the support,which gradually proliferated to led to the formation of a certain customs. It has been long to understand ancient customs from the myth and to explain the legacy of ancient customs with the myth. Kuafu myth is also an explanation system, involving many aspects of life of an ancient nation, which not only is the interpretation of nature, but also has a function of explaining and demonstrating the sanctity of the local folk features. For example, the composition of Kuafu eight communities and the custom of eating peach bun and so on. More than twenty names of the place, river and the hill of natural landscape around Kuafu Hill, such as Kuafu Ying, Kuafu River, Kuafu Mountain, Peach Lince, Rhu Garden, Sun Ditch,are easily associated with all kinds of wonderful imaginations. Of course there is " Kuafu valley inscription" in history to be corroborated.This paper is the comprehensive and multi-angle generaliztion about the origin, significance and folk of Kuafu Myth by combining myths in the classics and in the local community. And it tries to understand and explore the myth within depth and breadth.Meanwhile, in analyzing the folk traditions of society, it not only describes and lists the apparent folk customs, but also tries to find their origin through the oral legends which are the emotional expression of the folk, to interpret their cultural meaning through their generation and evolution process and to reveal the reason why they are rooted in people's minds and passed down generation by generation. These folk cultures,complementary to each other, created a brilliant Kuafu culture in Lingbao. There is a direct impact on the psychological structure, right and wrong, morality of the local people,thus develops a stable and harmonious relationship in their production and daily life.This paper is divided into four parts:I. Overview.II.The radiation of Kuafu Culture. It introduces all aspects of Kuafu Myth and evolution characteristics of Kuafu Myth and original inhabitants'value on life and death presented by the myth with documentary study and field investigation.III. Several questions related to Kuafu. By using individual case analysis, comparative analysis,induction of phenomenon and the application of theories,this paper analyzes the coexistence of three mountains: Chiyou Shan, Xuanyuan Tai, Kuafu Shan as well as folk stories about Kuafu.IV. Conclusion. Interpret the national spirit that Kuafu culture presents.
