Classification is of great importance for any subject, which is the middle of the bridge transform from the general theoretical study to the specific object research, and then forward to the further system.As a new academic concept, the intangible cultural heritage embodies a particular ethnic or cultural groups, personality and spirit of the aesthetic, but also contains the unique spirit of national values, way of thinking, imagination and cultural awareness, which maintain a culture identity and cultural sovereignty of the fundamental basis, and it is the crystallization of national wisdom and civilization, the link of national emotional bond and the foundation to maintain national unity, these intangible cultural heritage is rich in value and significance. As a result, the intangible cultural heritage, we need to conduct scientific studies and positive theory of protection, research and conservation practice the theoretical premise that the intangible cultural heritage, scientific, and standardized classification.However, conscious of the intangible cultural heritage protection practice and the corresponding theoretical exploration, are fairly recent thing, now, whether international or domestic, were unable to find classification of authority, or for most people accepted classification of the intangible cultural heritage. This situation exists not only affect the non-material cultural heritage, the deepening of theoretical research, but also affect the reality of Intangible Cultural Heritage,"(research, heritage, conservation, and exhibition practice with the confusion). So, "not to the needs of theoretical research, but also to protection practice of the intangible cultural heritage the classification is necessary, and we must do our best to research it."In this paper, in order to build a scientific, standardized of the classification of system of the intangible cultural heritage for providing a new way of thinking to protect the intangible cultural heritage in today's China practice, we follow the classification of certain principles and learn from other classification methods, and finally explorate the classification system of the intangible cultural heritage, which is an "four-level" classification system.
