Number, as the most basic and the earliest generated content, was created with the help of symbols in the activity of the original counts for the need of adapting to the social activities. It is the result of the development of the human mind to a certain stage. The primary function of number is to denote numbers or calculate as a letter symbol. Number expression is usually accurate not only in Chinese but also in any other languages. To indicate the exact number and order is its most basic function. For example, the numbers in the phrases such as a book, the binary system, the tricycle, the four seasons, five lines, the guitar, seven color plates, the Eight Diagrams, the section paper, ten sides and Twenty-Four Dynastic Histories indicate the exact number of the things or their component parts. And in the first time, the fourth day of every month, the second fiddle, the third detachment, fifth hospital, the sixth elder brother, band-2 grade A, etc, numbers are used to arrange the order as ordinal or omitting mark.However, the exact quantity expression is not the only function of figure. We can not always describe things or phenomena with precise quantifiers, so it requires us to outline with ambiguous quantifiers. Therefore, except the precise expression of Chinese figure, fuzzy expression is also its prominent function. Meanwhile, Chinese figure is given different emotional overtones because of cultural psychology, digital worship, religious beliefs and other factors. And it produces various rhetorical functions due to the need of different expressive effects.The basic object of this study is one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, hundred, thousand and million and the purpose of it is the multiple expressions of numbers in sentences. On the basis of the previous studies, this study will take numbers applied to the sentences as the premise and discuss the meanings of number in different forms from multi-angles, such as approximate number, imaginary number, summation, margin, multiple and fraction, as well as commendatory and derogatory colors and rhetorical function. So the unique idea of this paper is also the meaning and the value of this study.
