Construction Of Evaluation Scale Of Classroom Teaching For English Teachers

This paper consists of five chapters.The chapter one points out the purpose and significance of this study. I choose this topic due to the following reasons. Firstly, most of the middle schools use the same classroom teaching evaluation scale to assess all teachers. However, we know different discipline has different teaching methods. It is not acceptable the uniqueness of discipline is not considered. Secondly, the scale used by many schools now was made before the new curriculum reform.。The new curriculum reformative concept isn't embodied in these scales. Finally, the leader in the middle schools often encountered a problem: the scale come from other school isn't applicable own situation and they don't know how to construct a scientific evaluation scale. For the above facts, I select this topic.The chapter two is literature review which introduces teacher evaluation of classroom teaching at home and abroad and English teacher evaluation of the classroom teaching.The chapter three is research method. These are two methods: the factor analysis method and the Delphi method.The chapter four is the course of the study which includes the following steps: first step, according to the characteristics of English teaching and the requirements of the new curriculum standard, I make thirteen items. Then, based on these items, I designed a questionnaire and distributed it to the English teacher. The second step, I analyzed the collected questionnaire by the factor analysis. The third step is to determine the weight of scale by the Delphi method. The selected teachers answer questionnaire in two rounds. Through a series of calculations, the weight of scale is determined.The chapter five, as the last chapter, I draw a conclusion. It presents the characteristic to construct the scale in the paper.
