Gorky said:"The book is a ladder of human progress."Reading is just like diet. Different diets create different nutritive structure, while different books also create different mental structure. To cultivate a person, form a person's personality, we should try hard to help children build their own small bookshelf, and establish their unique reading system. Children's book decoration as a cultural carrier, its independent art entity becomes more important. To explore a three-dimensional form of children's book, into which we can put some ethnic subjects of Mongolian folk stories, not only can continue Mongolian folk stories but also can develop the culture of Inner Mongolia region.At the same time, pursuing the reading pleasure of graphic design is another level of asking for children's book existence, and its feeling can never be replaced by the network. For the children, if want to the book cause the children's interests in reading, they must be designed and made with a high taste to improve quality of book decoration. For the market, children's books consumption has great potentials in China. According to the survey, one-third of Chinese family income is put in children education, children's books consumption is one of the important spending, so the market space is broad. For choice of books, what kind of books shall be bought and read is the most confusing thing for Cenozoic. In the progress of knowledge transmission, books always play a tremendous role, which can't be neglected, since people's healthy growth needs meaningful books to accompany.We should choose the books with double character of cultural connotation and interesting decoration, thus children can improve their knowledge in the progress of entertainment, to keep a balance between work and play.This thesis choose some representative Mongolian folk stories as design cases, which are put nomadic culture elements to deepen the design theme in modern design. I have searched some content about typical Mongolia folk stories, retrieval, and realize them into three-dimensional design of children's books to cause children's interests in reading. The creation of children's books decoration with ethnic flavor,which is promoted by the regional, national and special characteristics of Mongolian culture draws more attention in modern design. Mongolia folk stories have their own complete and profound significant frameworks, so if they are designed with three-dimensional form concept of modern children's books, the Mongolian historical culture features and aesthetic taste can be reflected. Therefore, the study to promote the Mongolian folk stories in this way is very necessary.The main contents of this thesis are divided into four chapters, to analyze on three-dimensional form of Mongolian folk stories in children's book decoration. Firstly, we should found issues by analyzing the current situation of children's book decoration, for example, to seek them in reading interests, consumption space and succession form. Secondly, we should improve national design to change the single way of reading and add three-dimensional form into them. Thirdly, we should transmit Mongolian folk stories from aspects that Inner Mongolia's regional character and ethnic culture is vivid and bright, making its carrying form just on the three-dimensional form of children's books. Finally, during the development from Chinese traditional binding form to the three-dimensional form, we can come to a new conclusion that children's book decoration as a carrier of Mongolian folk stories can be formed into a three-dimensional shape, which is fit to children's reading, from design concept, pattern and performance.
