Study On "a Dream Of Red Mansions" Image Narrative

"A Dream of Red Mansions" is a masterpiece of realism, but is also a poetic novel of highly ideographical expression. A series of poetic imagoes in the novel give this masterpiece with endless artistic charm. Common scenes, feelings and things which are focused in the imagoes get new meaning by Cao Xueqin putting his own affections and talents in the imagoes and melting them in the plots. Image narrative is one of the artistic expression ways which is the best poetic one of all in "A Dream of Red Mansions" and in which aesthetic means are brought into play most incisively and vividly. The narrative in "A Dream of Red Mansions" which appear in thousands of manners switch together very easily and the true or false is mixed and communicated by creating connecting of many imagoes by Cao Xueqin who has used marvelous knowledge and methods as a real artist. A global aesthetic sight of "A Dream of Red Mansions" image narrative is researched in this article by using Aesthetics and Narratologies, in which the narrative functions and aesthetics implications are discussed more.This paper is divided into three chapters:Chapter 1 discusses the style and narrative way of "A Dream of Red Mansions" imagoes in a macroscopic sight. The "A Dream of Red Mansions" imagoes are divided into five styles, i.e. mythology imagoes, nature imagoes, object imagoes, color imagoes, and character imagoes according to the morphology they appear. It determines the narrative ways of "A Dream of Red Mansions" imagoes, i.e. allegorization narrative, symbolization narrative, dream narrative.Chapter 2 concretely analyse the function of "A Dream of Red Mansions" imagoes narrative.
