Research On The Narrative Strategy Of "two Voices" In A Dream Of Red Mansions

This paper focus on the study of A Dream of Red Mansions of double narrative strategy.We have made a literature review on the Narratology of A Dream of Red Mansions on the basis of previous and modern research of A Dream of Red Mansions since the founding of the People’s Republic of China detailedly and systematically.Then we extend this proposition to the study of narrative strategy of “double voice part” from four dimensions of time,character,narrative perspective and aesthetics combined the study of Polyphony inliterature and art.Finally we haved completed the narrative effect and aesthetic signficance of A Dream of Red Mansions through the analysis and discussion of the narrative of the plots of A Dream of Red Mansions.Due to the breadth of the book,the depth of human nature and the complexity of narrative strategies,this paper only analyzes the important plots and classic chapters in A Dream of Red Mansions.The first chapter is the interweaving of linear narrative and nonlinear narrative,narrative time and story time.What is discussed here is how the flexible use and change of narrative time in A Dream of Red Mansions produces novel narrative effects and makes it become a text structure with poly-meaning.The second chapter is the functional theory and symbolic theory of story characters,in which the functional theory is divided into narrative function and interference narrative function(i.e.non-narrative character discourse),which is the analysis of the process of characters advancing the narrative process and highlighting the narrative effect.Semiotics,on the other hand,point to the characters’ personality,ambition,emotion,destiny.It mainly combines the perspective of narratology and life aesthetics to observe the symbolic meaning of the character as the object of narration in the space and time inside and outside the 15-year Grand View Garden.The non-narrative discourse is used as a bridge of communication to connect the preceding and the following functions,such as the comments and comments made by the narrator,self-shame and self-pity,etc.This part of the text is not intended to play a narrative role.In the third chapter,through the classification of narrative perspectives,the author demonstrates the different impressions and experiences of Jia’s family from the perspective of guest friends and the perspective of host,and further discusses how to achieve the narrative effect of A Dream of Red Mansions from the perspective of perspective fusion,as well as how to achieve the "double voice" artistic effect of the same character in different narrative perspectives.The fourth chapter summarizes the two-tone narration of aesthetic vision,and explains and discusses the tragic beauty and transcendental beauty of the girls of Grand View Garden from the perspectives of tragic and experience aesthetics.
