Zhang Wei is one of the most important writers of the new era,whose novel involves the important issues of contemporary culture and occupies an important position.In the last thirty years in his career, Zhang Wei has maintained a continuing creative ability and passion,which is surely due to the tense confrontation relationship between his ideals and reality. It is the form of confrontation relationship that provides a steady stream of creative passion and creativity.The paper analyzes inherent contradictions and conflicts in the work as well as the psychological mechanism revealed by the author. From the perspective of idealism,the paper is aimed to analyze the internal trauma so as to provide a new interpretation of works and integrated with the time to make an analysis of the emptiness and value of idealism in the consumption era.The thesis is divided into three parts.The first part is the major analysis of the internal trauma with multiple manifestations in idealism.To begin with,the character's mental trauma and tragic fate is analyzed with psychoanalytic theory, and then followed by an analysis of main content about Zhang Wei's idealism,that is the double face of civil and love.The second part covers the reason of the existence of trauma from various angles.The third part concludes characteristics of the times,sees Zhang Wei's idealism from the point of the times and finally demonstrates the existence value of idealism after compared with Lu Xun.
