As an important field of intercultural communication, the study of intercultural communication competence (ICC) is at the initial stage in China, but there were many theories and tools abroad, especially the quantitative researches.Based on overviews of former researches, this study put forward its own theory system, set up intercultural communication competence questionnaire in Chinese version, and use it to research the current level of Chinese intercultural communication competence. The works of this study including:(1) using interview and factor analysis to study the structure of ICC, we find out the structure of ICC is a nine-factor model containing Cultural awareness, Culture difference perception, Respecting cultural difference, Willingness to communicate, Openness, Ability to speak foreign language, Building relationship, Interactive skills, Verbal communication skills; (2) The self-made "Intercultural Communication Competence Questionnaire" has good reliability (0.87) and validity, the Cronbach a of every factor is between 0.71 and 0.88; (3) Adopting the intercultural communication competence questionnaire to investigate the ICC characters of Chinese college students:first, total scores of the ICC presented a little higher than ordinary quality; second, ICC shows no difference on gender and experience abroad; third, ICC shows difference on the training variable, that is, the trained got higher scores than the people who has not been trained; fourth, ICC shows difference on the specialty variable, the one majored in language studies are significantly better than the ones not majored in language; fifth, ICC shows difference on the experience abroad variable; sixth, Chinese who had foreign friends were significantly better on ICC than those who had not.
