The Study On Zeng Guofan's Moral And Educational Thought

Moral education is a kind of ideological and political enducation in chinese history. In the feudal society who used the rule of man as the main domianting meas, ruling class used moral education to make people get together and then maintain the rule of order. Zeng Guofan was a famous people in Qing dynasdty, not only because he made a fabulous career through defeating TaiPing TianGuo Revolution, but also he was a moral model who won a lot of people's compliment at that time. Thanks to the chinese traditional culture's cultivation, he successfully got great progress in moral education and became the representative. By working hard, he realized the goal puisuited by the ancient. Though now we could not find anything specially talking about moral education written by him, through reading the books about his life and his poems, letters, memorials, we still could find the trace of his moral education system. In the current times, working on the study of Zeng Guofan's moral education is very useful. We can thoughly make acquiantace of chinses tradtional culture, at the same time, we can make him as our model, and do things better in our life.The theme we talk about is Zeng Guofan's moral education, so on the basis of materilas that I have found, I am preparing to write the thesis as following:Chapter I discusses what things make Zeng Guofan forme his moral education. I think there are four reasons. Firstly, he knew well about chinese traditional culture, such as confucianism, Taoist culture and Mohist culture. Secondly, he had a good family tradition, and was born to be influenced by the people around him. Thirdly, he was born in Hunan province, so he had some features of Hunan people's character. Fourthly, the times he was living in was also a reason contributed to the formation of his thought.Chapter two is the most important part I will talk about. In this part, I will introduce the contents and the traits inclued in Zeng Guofan's thought. This part will tell us the secret that Zeng Guofan became a successful people. There are many tips we can study from him.The last but not the least, chapter three will discuss how people critize Zeng Guofan. It was a fact that he made great contribution to Qing dynasty, but as one of the ruling class, he really defeated the Taiping tianguo Revolution, so he did got very different evaluations Some praised, some critized. In the papers I will try to give him objective assessment.
