The Danish philosopher Kierkegaard analyzed the problem of willing the Good in his Purity of Heart Is to Will One Thing. In the beginning, Kierkegaard repeated principle that everyone wills good, which was first appeared in Plato's works. In Kierkegaard's opinion, Purity of heart is to will one thing, and then one can only will the Good if he in truth wills one thing. However, actually, when people will the Good, they often confuse good with evil, the more serious is:they often actually will evil when they are willing the Good, and it will destroy their existence when they do this. Specifically is this:in Kierkegaard's opinion,As soon as people will the Good, they will fall into various kinds of double-minded, and which in reverse destroys willing the Good, makes it fall into different kinds of impasses. From the text, we know that Kierkegaard's criticize to double-minded is much similar to Plato's refutation to various kinds of concept of justice in first two volumes of Republic. Their difference is, after denied various kinds of concept of justices Plato went on to seek true Good and justice; while through criticize to double-minded, Kierkegaard drew a conclusion that willing the Good has indeed not come to pass. From here, Kierkegaard departed from Plato.Kierkegaard's conclusion that willing the Good has indeed not come to pass actually brings our existence to hopeless. That is, people can not will the Good at all.It is obvious that our existence need the Good, but if willing theGood has indeed not come to pass, then, where is the way of our existence? Kierkegaard's answer is calling us to eliminate the double-minded. Of course, it needs price if we want to eliminate double-minded. The price of willing the Good is Commitment to the Good. In western thought history, with Christianity coming into the world, it introduced a completely different angle, That is, the Good itself (Jesus Christ) on his own initiative arrived the world and showed himself, which makes it possible that as living individual we can build relationships with the Good. The commitment to the Good needs courage. When we commit ourselves to the Good, it means we should eliminate double-minded, supervise ourselves and expose evasion in the lead of the Good. When we in truth will the Good, method and outcome of willing the Good Unified, Outcome of willing the Good is the Good, method of willing the Good is willing the Good in the lead of the Good. This paper based on preliminary translation of the book, following the text, and made a reductive analysis comparing to Kierkegaard's other works and the New Testament, trying to straighten out thinking of the text according the thought history. Meanwhile, as the content of the text is much similar to Plato's thought of willing the Good. The paper gave a much more analyze to Plato's thought of willing the Good. To double-minded, which Kierkegaard criticized much in the text; this paper contacted demonstrations of impasse on truth standard when willing the Good during the thought history, which was mainly happened to Hellenization period scepticism, and gave them a comparative analysis, through analysis, we can get a much deeper understanding on Plato and Hellenization philosopher's thought and discussing on willing the Good and existence in the western thought history, Further more, we can get a much deeper understanding about being given the Good by God in Christianity thought by the comparative analysis.
