On Spatial Constructing Of Picture Book

The highly visualized contemporary culture has been kept changing people's living conditions and the regular reading habits. Without drawings or pictures comes no chapters has become a common phenomenon in the world's publishing field. Also the early children education concept which aims at cultivating the ability on reading and writing has been changed a lot. The first picture book to enlighten children's reading which gives high priority on pictures begins to be paid attention by people because of its image enchantment and education values.Since the end of twenties century, picture book was introduced domestically, however, foreign-introduced type still takes up dominant position in this market even though Chinese picture book has undergone almost ten-years'strive and improvement. To make matter worse, the original painting has encountered the low-productivities, bad-quality and hard-sold embarrassing situation. The domestic regards the splendid story scripts and good drawings as the key to excellent works, which lacks of comprehensive understanding of picture books and neglects the fundamental function of scripts description.The thesis tries to introduce the concept of spatial design into page design in picture book. It selects the unique images language as the cutting-point and related theoretical knowledge about planar design to analyse the psychological behavior of children, so as to discover the ways and rules of spatial construction in picture books. First of all, it addresses the importance of spatial construction before introducing the feasibility of this concept. Moreover, it focuses on the construction rules of static and dynamic space, and visual building in order to help readers to conceive the physical method of psychological space feeling. Last but not the least; it summarizes the design rules of actual and virtual space combination, then the idiographic designing ways can be provided. By the visual designing in picture books can not only make the description smoothly but also help to provide the accurate information to readers greatly, which comforts the readers and shows the artistic beauties in each page.
