From the early 1980s to the 21st century, Moyan's writings can be described as fruitful, and evaluations of his works are rich and various, more specifically, mainly on studying the works of Moyan's artistic sense, descriptions of Ugliness, " Folk" narrative and the " magic realism" and so on., However, there is a lack of studying the grotesque aesthetics reflected in Moyan's works. Therefore, this article adopts the grotesque aesthetic theories and combines the grotesque expressions in the works in and out of China, in order to make an in-depth analysis of three grotesque items in Moyan's works such as images, scenes and author's ideas, and to offer a new thinking way to improve how to appreciate Moyan's works.Introduction:On one hand, from the "time" point of view the author explains the evolution process of grotesque theories, Western grotesque theories and the related performances used in Chinese ancient works, so as to make a conclusion that there is grotesque art at each stage of Eastern and Western art history and it is a basic kind of art. On the other hand, based on the backgrouds of Moyan's growth and creations, the author analyzes the reasons of how to form the grotesque art in his works. The author holds that grotesquery in his works doesn't aim to promote or recognize the society defomities and abnormal phenomenon, but show his anxiouses about human's existence and some phenomenon under present situation. And grotesque woks are spirit products of Moyan'aspirations for a more reasonable and more beautiful future. The first chapter:Grotesque images in Moyan's novels. Grotesque figure images include pure appearance grotesquery and character grotesquery. In Moyan's novels, there are two kinds of appearance grotesquery, that is, one is half-human and half-alien appearance grotesquery, especially focusing on half-man and half bird or half-human and half-beast; another grotesque appearance is evolved from human appearance completely into a heterogeneity. This appearance grotesquery not only manifests the beast characteristics in human nature, but also uses the funny and horror change that human changes to animals in order to satirize human nature's degradation. By adopting the way of "magic realism", the author, who develops figures'grotesque appearances to character grotesquery, shows the absurdity and indifference of the world, while demonstrating a gap in the vicious world of tenderness with the perspective of ordinary people can not be perceived, so that the readers could be effected by mental shock from the images'strange and weird characteristics, which is contrary to common sense. The second chapter:Grotesque scenes in Moyan's novels. During the author's creative process, grotesque scenes are unreasonable distortion and deformation of the real world, in order to satisfy irony or artistic needs, and create "strange" scenes. Grotesque scenes in his novels mainly focus on four aspects such as horrible and funny "underworld" scenes, ridiculous "Cultural Revolution" scenes, riotous and fantastic "festival" scenes and cruel and seriously frightening "execution field" scenes. Moyan adopts hyperbole, a rhetoric way, to waver our familiar secular ideas and standards through these grotesque "strange" scenes, and the related descriptions which are inconsistent with the reality and present society implies the author's anxious and reflection on nowadays. The third chapter:Grotesque ideas in Moyan's novels. Grotesquery interrelates with dreams in numerable ways. Grotesque works often demonstrate a realm of dream that it is appropriately to express the dreamland by a bizarre tactics. Moyan's novels are distinguished for its wild imagination, interwined time and space, and bizarre plots, which is inseparable to his favorable adoption of dreamlike means. In this chapter, the author mainly focuses on two topics, dream emotions and dream revenge, to explain Moyan's dreamy grotesque ideas to construct his novels. Dreams are beautiful but visional and couldn't be reached. The contradictory emotions combine with abnormal love in Moyan's novels to produce grotesque and aesthetic feelings, which enable the readers grasp the concepts and philosophy under tender but horrible and inconsistent dreams. These are the dreams weaved by Moyan for us.Conclusion:In this article, the author shows the recognition of the grotesque aesthetic thinking in Moyan's novels and proposes a new way to study Moyan's novels.
