Tang zhen, who had gained his name with Huang Zongxi, Gu Yanwu, Wang Fuzhi and Lu Liuliang together, was a well-known thinker in the Qing Dynasty because his book-Qianshu. Many of his critical judgments in this book such as:monarchs are robbers, governments should make its'people rich and treat them equally and so on, were extremely brilliant and abstracted researchers. Hitherto, many studies aiming to Qianshu had been made and researchers also had brought us a great many of academic achievements. Based on those achievements, my essay, via the methods such as text-analyzing and comparative-study, try to give exact descriptions for his political-ethic, furthermore, to offer a new angle of view about how we should understand and appraise Tangzhenism. For this purpose, I take his political ideal and his solutions about how to make it into reality as my essays'main clew.Four parts consist of this essay. In the prolegomenon, I finished the preliminary work by giving a definition about the concept Political ethic, making an introduce about all Tangzhen's life and bringing to an simple conclusion about all those academic essays on his book. In my mind, it is the first and most important step for my further study. In the first chapter, Tangzhen's thoughts about Human Nature and Empirism have been revealed. As a matter of fact, both of them are the basements for his theory.Focusing on the question that'what is Tangzhen's political purpose', I paid more attention to his appeal for political value in the second chapter. At the same time, I introduced those major principles to his political ethic, such as Equality, Utilitarianism, and so on.In order to give an answer to the question'how we could take his political ideal into reality', I was engaged in finding different participants'moral ethics in Tangzhen's thoughts. In his mind, the emperor should be a loyal servant and be kind to his people, and officers should be responsible for their positions, simultaneity, the people should take their responsibilities according to their roles. In the last chapter, for finding reasons why Tangzhen only can give us such kind of theory which obviously less attention to system-establishment and look like Utopia, I compared Tangzhen with Huang Zongxi and with Loche respectively.According to my study, I take it for granted that many ideas in Tangzhenism are inspiring and helpful even to present. His egalitarian, his thoughts about making people rich, and his designs aiming to emperor are also irradiative. One more important thing is:we should learn lessons from the limitations which existed in his book.
