"Quality education should be carried out at an early age", it has been said. It is very important to foster healthy mental qualities in babyhood that is the critical and fundamental period of one's life. As one of the main activities conducted by young children, scientific and technological activity is vivid in contents, open and free in atmospheres, and characterized by exploring, practicing and experiencing. This paper focuses on the development level of young children's mental qualities, and how they are promoted by scientific and technological activities, and also the methods of blending the SPA into healthy mental quality education, as to provide reference sources for kindergarten teachers to conduct the effective teaching in mental quality education.A demonstration kindergarten in Wuhan is taken as a model, where the experimental group and control group are chosen from the middle class and top class respectively. In the following scientific and technological activities, normal teaching is conducted in the control group while mental quality education is intentionally offered in the experimental group. Firstly, the pre-test is carried out to show that there is no significant difference in the level of mental quality development between the two groups. Then differences will be analyzed based on the post-test and comparison after different kinds of teaching. The result shows that the scientific and technological activities have striking promotive effect on the development of young children's mental qualities, which cultivates children's interest in exploring new things. It arouses their initiative of studying, and gives a boost to the harmonious development of their self-consciousness. It also helps them to cultivate the good ability of interpersonal communication, improving their ability of facing up to failures and ability of accepting others'criticism correctly.The researcher suggests that teachers supposed to have healthy mental qualities and good comprehensive qualities should have clear mind about their status and role in scientific and technological activities while conducting mental quality teaching. Teachers should also focus on the organic combination and interaction between scientific and technological activities and other activities.
