Decision-making has been a hot issue for a long time both in many branches of psychological research and in the fields of management ,psychology and economics.Decision-maker play the most important role in the process of decision-making that makes researchers always pay more attention to decision-maker's individual diversity.Need for cognitive closure (NFCC) is a heated research spots of cognitive psychology in recent years abroad. Individuals with high dispositional NFCC has a very strong incentive to search for certainty, given the answer - even if there is no conclusive evidence, the following conclusions may not be appropriate;while individuals with low dispositional NFCC could bear a higher degree of ambiguity, has a lower preferences on the immediate elimination of its ambiguity and uncertainty, and thus has a stronger incentive to collect information or research more further information for in-depth analysis and reflection.Individuals with high dispositional NFCC tend to use heuristics to make a judgement,so this kind of decision has more deviation.Conduct a depth study on NFCC could help manager to improve their decision quality. In this dissertation,NFCC and issue involvement are introduced as two variables to carry study on decision-making.This research start from issue involvement and the difference between NFCC, examine the impact of NFCC and issue involvement on decision-making process and decision preference,as well as the interaction between them.Study 1 adopted the Information Board technique, use purchase a computer as decision - making task, operate different direction word to activate the subject's involvement, and the individual difference between NFCC were measured, verify the impact of NFCC and issue involvement on information processing time and subjective self-confidence. The results show that the issue involvement and NFCC have main effect and interactive effect on information processing time and subjective self-confidence.Study 2 use a ambiguous problem as decision - making task. operate different direction word to activate the subject's involvement, and the individual difference between NFCC were measured, test the impact of NFCC and issue involvement on decision preference. The results show that the issue involvement and NFCC have main effect and interactive effect on decision preference. The results of two experiments hopefully furthered our konwledge about the impact of NFCC and issue involvement on decision preference as well as decision-making process. At the same time,It also provide a basic theory about how to promote individuals with high dispositional NFCC to search more information, reduce the high closed orientation, which improve their decision quality.
