China's national music is rich and colorful. Contemporary work pays more attention to the further excavation of instrumental tones and performance techniques. In a wide variety of ethnic percussion works, one work needs to meet two necessities to stand out—unifying all musical elements into one organic whole, within which elements can interface with each other, at the same time, its elements should also keep their features as independent existences. Jia Daqun, a contemporary Chinese composer, creates his own style in this way. In the face of traditional Chinese music, and many other folk music, Jia, by mixing Chinese musical thoughts and modern composing technical theories, composed new spiritual music vocabularies, and formed his own unique style.Written in 2000, Sound Games is created by Professor Jia Daqun after the commission of French "2000 Chinese Classical Music Series concert" and the invitation of Chen Qigang. Composer in the music buried in a variety of dialectical thoughts: first is the correspondence and relationship between the four regional cultures and the inner perception of the composer; second is the contrast and integration of traditional, modern and newly produced playing techniques; the third is the blending and unifying of Chinese musical thoughts and western composing techniques; and the last is the correspondence of reason and emotion, logic and random, and control and freedom.Musicians both at home and abroad have made tremendous findings on Professor Jia Daqun's works, except for Sound Games. This work has not gone through a complete and thorough analysis. This paper, through motivation, thematic analysis, core cells evolution analysis, and structure parallelism observation, tries to make a complete analysis and study on the work's music pattern and composing techniques. On this basis, the paper tries to interpret this work on its implicitly-contained regional cultures, emotions, experiences, humane thoughts and spiritual conditions, which will be logically closed to the original state when it is being composed. After the interpretation, this paper concludes and summarizes the diversified creating ideas and artistic styles, as advocated and followed by the composer.
