As hip-hop culture gradually being mature, hip-hop, new jazz dance, Latin dance and other emerging dance elements have been amalgamated into American musical films since 2000, accompanied by innovation in narrative methods and video rendering, there set off a new wave of musical.Before 2000, the ballet, ballad, and old jazz dance were main forms to show sections of musical. It was pretty single in forms and gave the audience a sense of feult due to the isolation between dance section and narrative section. However, since 2000, the American musical applied the method of mixing, with the concept of street dance; there were Latin dance, jazz dance, ballet, tap dance, etc. They were pulled together comprehensively shown in musical and dancing itself has become a way of narration. It connected both dancing sections and narrative sections, presenting the audience a new and colorful aesthetic orientation.The US is originally a multi-ethnic country. And since 2000, the amalgamation of various dancing elements in musical has proved the diversity and inclusiveness of American culture. And the current academic circles have not done any special research of American musical come out after the year 2000. Focusing on the theme of innovation and integration, this paper discusses American musicals since 2000 with four chapters. Chapter 1 discusses dance types, and specifically analyzes inheritance and innovation of dance elements with hip-hop dance as the main body. Chapter 2 studies narrative characteristics of American musicals since 2000, namely dance moves replacing lines to narrate and fast narrative flow. Chapter 3 studies the characteristics of video presentation, that is, skillful transition from stage to real scene, application of Pat technology and original adoption of music. Chapter 4 reveals American culture contained in films through analyzing two keywords of American culture "individual" and "cooperation", and exploring the multicultural character of "all in one" to show American culture contained in the film. Through explanation of those four aspects above, a deeper studv will be made in this subiect.
