English pronunciation has been an indispensable part in English teaching and research since before, and gains more and more attention now. In the study of Chinese English learners'pronunciation, most focus on the comparison of segmental and suprasegmental features between native speakers and non-native speakers. The comparison between Chinese English learners with good pronunciation and poor pronunciation were ignored to some extent. This thesis first reviewed the current researches about the phonetic differences between native speakers and learners at home or abroad. Based on them, a phonetic features system including six basic indicators (segmental miscues, word miscues, duration, pause, pitch and tone) is established. Then besides the traditional perception analysis, the phonetic analysis software Praat and ToBI annotation system were made use of to collect, analyze and label the sounds of subjects (15 good pronunciation-samples and 15 poor pronunciation-samples) to discover the phonetic differences between these two groups. At last, this thesis pointed out the meaning of this research for the teaching and studying of English pronunciation and proposed the limitations and suggestions of this research.Through comparing the performance of Chinese English learners with good pronunciation and poor pronunciation in the six aspects above, the main findings are concluded as follows: 1) Chinese English learners with good pronunciation and poor pronunciation have significant differences in segmental miscues, word miscues, the comparative duration of preposition, pause frequency and places, pitch ranges of long sentences, the F0 contour, tonal types and accentuation. 2) Chinese English learners with good pronunciation and poor pronunciation didn't have significant difference on mean pause duration, pitch ranges of short sentences. Through the comparison between NNSs'performance and that of NS, mean pause duration is not a factor to decide the level of Chinese English learners, but pitch range of short sentences have relationship with pronunciation level. This research helps Chinese English learners a more precise recognition for their own pronunciation, and English teachers learn that teaching of segmentals is not the whole of pronunciation teaching, what suprasegmental features could influence the pronunciation level of Chinese English learners should also be valued.
