On The Prose Of Shen Congwen In 1940s

Shen Congwen is one of the most important writers in the Chinese modern literature history. He lends his unique and enlightening way of writing to the literature of 21st century. In 1940s, the prose is an important form of his works. His prose has changed a lot in content and format, expressing images by format and developing a way of abstract lyric writing, though there were some issues yet to be discussed.Based on his prose texts, this article discusses the influence of his works, analyses the achievement of his works in art, and reveals his unique thoughts and feelings during these forty years from a perspectives of the entanglement of his romance and the development of his mind, combined with his unique life experience.This article consists of three chapters: Chapter One focuses on the development of his thoughts and discusses the depth at which his prose has achieved; Chapter Two analyses the construction and implication of his self-image in his prose from the perspective of his romance; Chapter Three elaborates the achievement that his prose has reached.
