The Reconstruction Of The Archives Of Lú-di(?)ir-ra Ⅱ, The Domestic Animal Official Of The Animal Center Of Ur-Ⅲ Dynasty In Puzri(?)-Dagan((?) 44 Iv-AS 3 Xi/20)

Large animal tribute center by the name of the Office of Puzri?-Dagan, which is now the Drehem site in Iraq, was built by the king ?ulgi of Ur III dynasty at his 38th year's dominance. The reason for establishing this animal center was that the Ur III dynasty royal family, court officials, the governors and nobles of the cities needed an office to manage their animal sacrifices, which were frequently offered to the deities in Nippur, Uruk and Ur. Simultaneously the palace and the officials of the royal court as well as the soldiers also needed the massive domestic animals as foods. The receiving and withdrawals of the large amount of animals required the special accounting office.é-Puzri?-Dagan, which was near to the religious center of Nippur and Tummal, therefore was elected as the place of the Royal Animal Center. The Office of Puzri?-Dagan was the animal managing center in ancient Mesopotamia and studying its documents will be the most important task for understanding the palace economy of Ur III Dynasty.The work in this paper is to reconstruct the archives of Lú-di?ir-ra II, an official of the tribute center, who was in charge of tributing domestic animal. There are 444 texts of his archives. This paper has been divided into two parts. Part one give the analyze of the work of Lú-di?ir-ra II. Part two reconstructed his 444 archives, according to the chronological order, and presented in Sumerian transliteration, English and Chinese. From the archives, we know that the period of official working of Lú-di?ir-ra II was between 46th of ?ulgi and 3rd of Amar-Sin, altogether 4 years, he was an official who took over of flock from other officials and offered them for different aims in the tribute Animal Center.In this paper, we have also analyzed his economic activity. Among Lú-di?ir-ra II's work colleagues of the Animal Center, we see the domestic animal mainly to come from following channels: the central manager, the temporary other manager of animal, the tribute domestic animal ships the official. Lú-di?ir-ra II was an important official in the tribute Animal Center. Not only that he worked for a long time but also he offered livestock to royal, soldiers, temples and so on. From his work, we can know further about the offerings and sacrifices system in the Ur III dynasty.
