A Theory About The Influence Of The Enlightenment Thoughts On Beethoven's Music Creation

Talking about the enlightenment rahter than Beethoven seems that l the Swan Lake Ballet was performed without the music accompaniment of Tchaikovsky. Similarly, making no mention whatsoever of the enlightenment is to lack of the breadth and depth in thoughts of Beethoven's works. This paper makes us clearly realize the connotation of Beethoven's works by analyzing the representatives and their works on philosophy, aesthetics and literature to show their various influence on Beethoven's music composition. Beethoven was born in the late of the enlightenment. The enlightenment thought became more complete, free and equal and the fraternity thoughts has penetrated deep into people's hearts. This article is to describe the relationship more clearly and to make Beethoven understood in the greatness of himself and his works.There are six sections in this dissertation. Chapter One consists in introducing the connotation of the enlightenment thought. The enlightenment symbolizes that the bourgeoisies has emerged in the historical arena as one of the revolutionary forces. There are some statements and analysis from Chapter Two to Chapter Four around philosophy thought, esthetic and culture Ideality, attaching importance to the contrast analysis of the specific works. It is the times that bring up Beethoven's great works and personality and a mass of musicians were influenced by the enlightenment thoughts. While Chapter Five embodies the musicians'common apprehension through illustrating the antecessor's influence on Beethoven's creation. Great works seems like a mirror and from which people can be seen by themselves. Beethoven's music can constantly be unfailing results from some practical significance. The last chapter is related to the modern social influence of Beethoven's music with the enlightenment thoughts and it still has the inspiration to build up the harmonious society.
