Since social science came into brewing stage in mid-17th century,social science gradually developed a set of effective date research methods date operational mechanisms about 20th century.From then on, social science has make a clean break with "belief" and ""common sense" and became a true science.Opening social science,from the date of birth, has been learning nutrition from other knowledge system. In recent year, the problem of cognitive dimension in social science become more and more important as the rise of cognitive science.In fact, many aspects of social science have demonstrated the characteristics of relating with cognitive science. Among them, qualitative research paradigm based on interpretivism methodology is even more evident.Meaning is the common subject of qualitative social science and cognitive linguistics. Qualitative social sciences has been relentlessly pursuing the significance of human social dynamics, in order to give meaning to social action. However, cognitive linguistics apply cognitive operation beneath the surface of language to analyze the generating process of meaning. Particularly, conceptual blending theory in cognitive linguistics investigates amount of elements in qualitative social science, such as:writing principles, causal analysis and theoretical problems in construction. It has proved that conceptual blending theory in cognitive linguistics not only has strong explanatory power for many problem in qualitative social science, but also cognitive dimension exists in qualitative research in social science. Further more,this research provide enough power to pierce through the limitation in qualitative research in social science and the direction of thinking to the development of interpretivism methodology over again.This paper is divided into five parts, including the introduction, three chapters and conclusion. In the introduction, we introduce the background of writing, the achievement in home and abroad and the purpose of this research. In the first chapter, we introduce qualitative research in social science and conceptual blending theory in cognitive linguistics mainly, and mean to find the meeting point in the platform of meaning research between qualitative research and conceptual blending theory. In chapter two, based on the chapter one,we analyze three aspects in qualitative research further by conceptual blending as basic cognitive operation. In chapter three, based on the previous two chapter, we try to solve the problem of limitation in qualitative research in social science and the problem of development over again for interpretivism methodology by means of providing a kind of thinking directions. In addition, we found that both cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience have relationships with qualitative research in social science. In conclusion part, we made on a summary of the full text, propose the view of point and the significance produced by the view.
