| Tomba, Dongba, or Tompa script is one of three writing system widely used by the ethnic group of Naxi people, or Nakhi, in the foothills of the Himalayas north-west Yunnan and Sichuan Province, China. The Tomba script as the earliest stages of scripts from around the world, does not completely reflect the Naxi language, not even close. And the Structure and form of its glyphs is very non-formal, and has been researched so far by lots of Naxi-native and non-native scholars.This issue is an Academic-Historic review of the Tomba Script Stucture. By studying the personal style of the scholars and background of the times, the various levels of the opinion are comprehensively isolated, and the underlying research paradigm are illustrated.It is discussed in three chapters with an Appendix.In the Introduction of Chapterâ… , the object, methods, status, framework and objectives of the review are described. In the Analysis of Chapterâ…¡, the representative opinions of representive scholars, Including Zhang Taiyan, Fang Guoyu, Wen You, Li Lincan, Fu Maoji, Zhou Youguang, He Zhiwu, Li Jingsheng, Wang Yuanlu and Yu Suisheng, are reviewed. In the Synthesis of Chapterâ…¢, the focus of scholars' debate on script structure, the sources of materials, the motivation and the background of the research in the academic history are discussed centrally. In the Appendix, a Chronology of Tomba Script as the background of the issue is supplied. |
