| Sexual jealousy is a a sex-specific evolved psychological mechanism. When a stable relationship appears actual or potential signals of infidelity, and in order to prevent the likely further treachery to be happened and protecting present relationship not to be damaged, the mechanism is start-up and points to adaptive problem solving directly. There are plenty of evolutionary psychology studies on jealousy overseas., but few empirical studies have been started in our nation. Accordingly, it is make sense to study diverse characteristic of rivals in love caused by sexual jealousy which is noticed by in domestic academy.We assumed in this paper that the males are more concerned about their rivals' mate value, such as whether "he" is powerful in the possession of wealth or the strength in society. On the contrary, the female is more concerned in the main attention based on feminine value value, whether "she" has a good physical appearance.To validate those hypotheses, we designed 2 questionnaires and 1 experiment. Investigation aimed at gathering diverse rival characteristics. The interviewee is asked to grade his/her rivals'characteristic in Investigation 2, and the result is also be classified. In the end, the experimental study is an automatic cure process based on forenamed investigations, which make progress to validate that people form the characteristic of the rival in love can be out of their consciousness scope.The conclusion of this paper indicates that, when people face their rivals in love, the male is sensitive in the earmark of their competitor's wealth possession, physical domination, social class etc., and the female is more sensitive in appearance attraction. In the same time, the study also discovered that the female's mate value and the male's satisfaction of present affection not only can awake jealousy mood, but also influence the degree of jealousy occurrence. The study support evolutionary psychology hypotheses in some extent.
