On Lu Xun's Idea Of Creation

In the revolution of values in modern China, as refutations of dogmatism of Confucian classics and Confucian ethical rationality,a series of interrelated core concepts stand out, which including the concept of creation. The paper discusses Luxun's idea of creation.The promotion of the value of creation in modern China takes the attention of science and technology and the acceptance of scientific spirit as medium. Luxun's scientific spirit related with the understanding of western culcure in the early times. His view of nature sublates moral significance of Heaven as doctrines. His heaven-man relationship got the Faustian-promethean nature of Western civilization dynamism. From the understanding of modern natural science, Luxun paid attention to requirements of human spirituality, i.e., imagination, spirit of seeking truth from facts and will of revolt, which are principal factors which creative subjects have to be realized by.After baptism of evolutionism and pessimism, Luxun strengthened the requirements of will of subjectivity. Thereby he launched overall critique to Chinese traditional culture and national character, and endued them with values, combining destroy and construction, and stressing the essentiality of creation.Much work of Luxun is focused on literary and artistic creation and criticism, which aims at new cultural construction. As to his views on creation of literature and arts; aspects of his realism views on creation that takes them for life, and absorption of spiritual resource from other countries at the base of independent consciousness. He endued value of creation to basic experience of life practice. He emphasized aesthetic tradition of Jingangnumu (sublimity) in aesthetic orientation, takes strength of contradiction and tension as aesthetic object. Additionally, for Luxun the aesthetic view is presented as requirement of understanding and will of aesthetic subjects.Luxun's view of creation included the notice to personality that the personality is independent, pluralistic, dynamistic,but should be combination of personal consciousness and mass consciousness and therefore reasonable. Creation as practice activity of realization of ideality, is finally directed by freedom, and therefore has inner value.
