In the development of contemporary aesthetic culture during the period of more than 30 years, civilian images have been used as the important creative subject for artists to inquiry life, reflect history and involved in reality. Even in many people's opinion, whether the artist can concern or mold the civilians has become the important criterion of his conscience. In the democratized society, civilian has become a vocabulary containing the huge moral superiority. As a result, during the process of more than 30 years, there are a lot of civilian images emerged, even a unique narrative pattern of civilians has been formed. These emergences of these civilian images, not only can enrich the contemporary the galleries of Chinese characters of aesthetic culture, but also can deepen its connotation and depth. With regard to the "civilian" in the concept of "civilian images", we have different usage from the traditional culture. In this paper, we consider "civilian" as an the concept of economic rather than political. The reason that using the term "citizen" is that "civilian" is appropriate for the groups with economic reforms in China. The great writers and profound works are always spokesmen for the common people, or come from the civilians. Concerning civilians reflects not only whether an artist reaches the consciousness of art, but also relates to the depth and breadth of the artists and their works. The great artist will identify with themselves in order to express the civilian conditions, meanwhile; they also dig the various causes of embarrassment of civilian and think about the way and direction of the civilian plight as much as possible. Actually from 1980s, the artists had already started to take attention on civilians, emerged more and more civilians in the performance of the image, and think of civilian works. Compared with those fast food culture and consumer culture which immersed in the sensual and carnival, these works have their irreplaceable social and aesthetic values. Especially in the 90s last century, with the advanced techniques and further civilian in liberal and open society, many people involved in the creation of aesthetic culture, which promoted from the "shaped" to"self-writing". Living conditions of civilians and the love-hate passion is also able to present as much as possible in the natural state, the images of the civilian population also have a historic opportunity to get rid of distortion. The civilian images in the new era of aesthetic culture including its changes, connotation, value and deficiency, have become an interesting but significant issue.Previous studies of civilian images generally focus on the specific cases or the analysis on a work revealing the civilian feelings in affirmative point while less or not deep in systematic outline and limitative analysis. This paper is intended to stand on the basis of previous studies, through analysis of the reasons for the formation of aesthetic culture characteristics on the "civilian images" in the 1980s, so as to further demonstrate civilian images in the cultural and artistic creation embodied in the characteristics of the times, typical and attitudes of writers and so on.This paper consists of four parts as follows:Introduction: Combing the connotation of "civilian" and civilians from the "shaped" to "self-writing" of the shift. Firstly, to distinguish the unique connotation by comparing with concepts of the people, the public and the bottom. By contrasting with the civilian, "the people" concentrates more political consciousness, "the public" contains strong political connotations and consumer characteristics while "the bottom" have too much moral justice with idealism and also be regard as the only class of conserving simple spirit and pure moral. Secondly, combing the causes of civilians from the "shaped" to "self-writing" and two different writing subjects to different kinds of civilians. The great writers and profound works are always spokesmen for the common people, or come from the civilians. Concerning civilians reflects not only whether an artist reaches the consciousness of art, but also relates to the depth and breadth of the artists and their works. The great artist will identify with themselves in order to express the civilian conditions, meanwhile; they also dig the various causes of embarrassment of civilian and think about the way and direction of the civilian plight as much as possible.Chapter I: The civilian images in the 1980s aesthetic culture. What this paper concerned is an easily ignored group in literature --- civilians. This is an experienced group of social changes, from the "witness"accused the Cultural Revolution to the "advocate" to the Reform and Opening up. As the subject in the artistic performance, civilian images in each work is a special individual existence, however, as a typical image, they also have inevitable universal characteristics. They are not only as a witness to charge the existence of the Cultural Revolution. Meanwhile, they emerged as the images who control their own destiny and advocates of Reform and Opening up. This paper argues that novels like "Youth Literature" "scar literature" "Roots" does not satisfy reflection on the formulation for the endless pain, also did not stay on the condemnation to the Cultural Revolution disaster and the infiltration level of suffering experienced and bitter tears. Instead, drawing deeply into the interior heart with the attitude of anti-Cultural Revolution to recourse the causes of pain. The creators take a sympathetic critique of both positions to civilians. Most writers possess a modern intellectual attitude in the description of peasants. They have a complex and contradictory feeling to farmers, Sorrow for their unfortunate and angry about not struggling. They discussed through the root of dilemma, demonstrated the historical destiny of farmers in traditional culture, full of love and the deep anxieties to the national future. In the process of disseminating the national spirit as spokesperson, writers explore the kernel in the traditional Chinese culture--- long-term feudal patriarchal leads to the desert of peasants spiritual home. But at the same time, we should know that though many writers took reflective, critical perspective, they pay little attention to spiritual freedom. The texts in this period of aesthetic culture reveal insufficiently profound in the conflict of the soul and in the evil elements of human nature. People's inner conflicts and transcendent pursuit of freedom, questioning the meaning of life have been overshadowed in the political and social issues.Chapter II: The civilian images in the 1990s aesthetic culture. First of all, the civilian images are considered as "humble person" in tedious life. The aesthetic and cultural texts in this period, which paid attention to civilians and restore the daily lives of ordinary people, show mediocrity, pale and helpless in daily life and expressed a Civilian values, meanwhile, they also reflected the recognition to the secular life. In the literary expression about urban migrant workers we should pay attention to two different subjects in writing. One is "to write the workers". The intellectuals, who have sympathy for the hardship of migrant workers, are always contemplated to the survival conditions of them consciously standing in the position of enlightenment with the human Spirit. The narrative perspectives are mostly integrated the secular with enlightenment. The other is "the workers write something," namely "migrant work literature" writers. They "write in their survival "with a horizontal view in literary creation, whose works are full of realism and pain. Thirdly, writing folks is the moral Holy Land for redeeming culture. In the 1990s, the rapid development of commodity economy has brought new changes in society and economy, the outlook on life and values are ultimately reconstructed in the field of social consciousness. But there are still some creators shaped the civil society and the civilians as the images of morality, simplicity and natural with infinite pious attitude.Chapter III: The civilian images in aesthetic Culture in the new century. To begin with, writing the civilian images in the television series directed by Zhao Ben Shan. In those aesthetic cultural texts, He used clowns elements extensively in his images, language and action in order to distorted and queered images, and his works, the performance of vulgarization meet a contemporary unhealthy sentiment, which become the hamper in the breakthrough of his personal image and the development of Northeast Country Films TV. To note that these civilian images is due to consumer culture's influence on life,, and to point out that in the society with political reform and economic development, we must prevent the cultural vulgarization and thorough consumption tendencies, still sticking to the moral ethics lines in the entertain mental condition. What's more, the films have become the window for exploring depth of humanity. Domestic films in the industrialized society need meet commercial appeals has already become an indisputable fact, but it does not mean that movie must give up the humanistic spirit of exploration as the cost.. Many films in the new century have a good performance in showing the real life with full of rich ideological contents, and some films in revealing human nature and national characters have been considered deep in performance. Moreover, with the improvement in technology, civilian group also have the channels and space in expressing their opinions and writing themselves. Especially with the appearances of mobile phones, Internet and other new medium, the means of self-expression for civilians are more varied. Blogs, podcasts and other forms of well-developed network promote the expansion of private space, while the spread of electronic medium leads to the civilization of aesthetic subjects, elite culture and other influences. As a result, the self-writing of civilians not only writes the mentality in marginalized life physicality of pain and suffering, but also reflects the recognition of self-identity and a humanistic spirit characteristic of having the courage to take the responsibilities.
