The paper is on purpose of researching the origin of "civilian intellectual" sense of Li Bai by combining the historical sources of the thought with Li Bai's living experience under its historical background, investigating the appearance of the sense in the thoughts system of Li Bai, and the influences of the thought to the characters, formats, emotions and language styles of the poems of Li Bai.The paper is divided into six chapters.Chapter One : Preface.Introducing the topic meaning, researching condition, questions to be answering, information referring and researching method of the paper, as an overall introduction.Chapter Two: Origin and Connotation of the Sense of "Civilian intellectual".Formatting the concepts, connotation and developments of the sense under each historical period, and then describing the connotation of the sense with above basis. People with the sense, no matter from poor and distinguished family backgrounds, all take the responsibility of benefiting the human being, focus on developing the principles of the sense which are centralized in the principle of free-characteristic of each individual, hold the believe of providing guidance to the emperors once becoming a member of the authorizing class.Chapter Three: The Identification and Origin of Li Bai's "Civilian intellectual" SenseLi Bai, as the root of this paper, his "civilian intellectualist" identification and experiences, as well as his consistent believe of the sense during the lifetime are definite. Li Bai's sense originated from not only his social condition, but also alsoexperiences during his early ages, historical background and consistency of traditions.Chapter Four/ The Appearance and Characters of Li Bai's "Civilian intellectual" SenseThe main characters of Li Bai's sense could be specified into the Dao, Principle and Honor of the Sense, mainly reflected by one of his principle - "Quit after Succeed".His romantic ways of lining were exactly the reflection of his "civilian intellectual"sense. Although he did own certain ideas of getting wealthy and higher ranked, the sense was always the main stream of his thoughts system. Li Bai's Principle of the sense included his insistence of benefiting the human being, impressive understanding of independent self-character and individual freedom, the pride of being a "civilian intellectualist" and the developing of being social responsible and generosity. In his distinguished poem works Li Bai sincerely praised the historical models of partially performed the honor of the sense -Jiang Shang, Guan Zhong and Zhu Geliang, as well as described his admiration towards those people's experiences of guiding and assisting the emperors for their great historical achievements. During his life ime Li Bai never stepped into the National Examination of Selecting Officials, which was just the result of insisting on the honor of being a "civilian intellectualist". "Quit after Succeed" showed the connotation of Li Bai's sense, and the progressing of this principle typically and finally reflected the spirit of the sense - "civilian intellectual".Chapter Five: How the Sense Influenced Li Bai's Works."Civilian intellectual" sense has been influent to the formats, tastes, emotions and language styles of Li Bai's poems - plenty of his poems were using ancient formats and taking reference of a lot of country poems; his poems' unique taste was a combination of "Great-heareted, Free and Tragic"; his poems' expression of emotions was sincere and direct, language style was natural and refreshing.Chapter Six: Conclusion.On the basis of concluding the article, trying to interpret the typical case of Li Bai's "civilian intellectual" sense.
