Study On The Yellow River Delta Folk Songs

Yellow River Delta has a long history. The Delta Folk Songs, as an important component of the Delta culture, consists of different themes, forms and styles. On the basis of discussing the cultural background, genre classification, artistic characteristics, educational function and protectional inheritance of the Delta folk songs, this article bears an important role to a further study about the Delta Folk Songs, even to the study of a whole range of folk musics in Shandong Province. This article consists of four parts.The first part is about the cultural background of the folk songs in the Yellow River Delta. An art form is produced by the interaction of various factors. The major three factors influncing Delta Songs are: the historical background, geographical factors, and opera background. Understanding all these will be a big help for us to form a general knowledge about the backgroud of Delta Songs.The second part is about the types and artistic characteristics of the Delta Songs. Firstly, classification on folk genres has been carried out, then each group been seperately discussed. Because Folk Minor which represents the general style of the Delta Songs takes a large portion, this article has made a detailed classification on the themes of Delta Folk Songs. Secondly, this article has made a study about the language feature, rhythm feature, and the form structure. Besides, this section has illustrated lots of musical example scores for referance.The third part is about educational function of the Delta Folk Songs.Not only as an artistic form, Delta Folk Songs is also an easily acceptable teaching method for mass people. It is good to help foster the sound outlook on life, values and morality. Meanwhile, it is an effective means of constructing modern harmonious society, and building a new socialist countryside. The focus for this chapter is about the classification of the educational functions of the Delta Songs, majorly on the sides like historical legends, historical events, production and living, political revolutionary ideas, attitude towarde love and marriage, and admonition as well. The purpose for the classification is for the hope of fully exerting the educational function of the Yellow River Delta Folk Songs.The fourth part is about the protection and inheritance of the Delta Songs. The Delta Songs has richful genres and vivid contents. During the process of generation, spread and evolution, it has absorbed, melted and accumulated richful culture of the Yellow River Delta. It is not only an artistic form, but also a cultural symbol. Thus, this article, discusses the significance of protecting the Delta songs from two sides: one is about its loading effect for local historical culture; the other is about its improvement for the unique individuality of Chinese vocal musics in local areas. The second section for this part is a detailed analysis about the protection and inheritance of the Delta Songs. From objective and subjective view, the article talks about the reasons why the Delta folk songs have a survival crisis, and meanwhile proposes views about the necessity to take urgent measures to protect folk songs. The last section is about some suggestions to better protect and develop Delta songs, mainly from aspects of government support, school education, as well as the songs'developing and innovating.
