The national primary composer Yin Qing is an outstanding military artist. At present he is the art director in the Song and Dance Troupe of the General Politics Department. Of his over 1,000 works, songs are the majority and most successful, as there are over 300 songs received provincial and national awards. Good examples among them are songs like"Stepping into a New Age","Road toward the Sky","Heartily Singing in the West", and"Reed Catkins"that have been known to every family. As far as the amount and popularity of songs are concerned, Yin Qing can be entitled as the"King of Songs"in contemporary China.Following the introduction to Yin Qing's life and creation, this article systematically and extensively explores and analyzes the artistic characteristics of songs created by him from two aspects, namely theme and content, and composing and techniques. Two military songs are analyzed in details as examples to show the singing techniques and how to handle the issue of feeling while performing Yin Qing's songs.
