The Ethical Reflection On The Surrogate Technology

Science of life is one of the most influential disciplines in the 20th century; it has opened up a new area of the artificial reproductive technology. Surrogate technology emerged in the late 1970s has a revolution effect on human being's pregnancy and way of production. The first test-tube baby that was delivered by surrogate mother in China in 1996 has aroused huge controversy in ethical, moral, legal areas respectively and caused widespread social dispute. Under this situation this paper discussed and narrated surrogate technology from the perspective of supporting surrogate technology conditionally.In the first part, this paper gave the concrete definitions about surrogate and surrogate technology, and summarized the arguments in the ethical, moral, legal areas in current domestic and abroad.In the second part, this paper explored the reasons that why surrogate technology has aroused and its difference with the traditional "borrow bellyson"; Then this paper preliminarily analyzed the ethical problems which were caused by the surrogate technology and its root of social ethics. On this foundation, the article called on that we should on one hand, draw on the latest research results at home and abroad, and on the other hand search for the basis from our China's ancient traditions, and besides these, we have to defense for the surrogate technology from four aspects:technological ethics, family ethics, reproductive ethics and social morality. In so doing, the author provided some theoretical basics for the opening up of the surrogate technology rationally in China.Finally, this paper pointed out we should have both hard and soft bounds in the applications of the surrogate technology-ethical morality bounds and legal constraints, and then made some practical proposes about how to open surrogate technology conditionally and how to norm the relevant behaviors of surrogate mother to combine our human being' moral values with the benefits stemmed from the application of surrogate technology to promote the all-grounded progress of human civilization.
