Li Bai's poems remain as wonderful works in Chinese classical poetry. In the past one hundred years many translators subsequently have put his poems into English versions. There are so many different translated versions to enumerate. Meanwhile, the studies on Li Bai's poetry translation emerged, and its academic efforts continue even in the present time. Jing Ye Si, a representative of Li Bai's poems, has been repeatedly translated by different translators; Wang Lu Shan Pu Bu remains as a favourite piece of the poems due to its well-known exaggeration and magnificent description of Mount Lu. The translators' construal paths in translating these two poems may provide materials for the study on the subjectivity in translation and for the trains to improve the translators' construal consciously and effectively. As a cognitive concept, construal refers to the ability to conceive and portray the same situation in alternate ways. Such relation exists between a speaker (or hearer) and the situation that he conceptualizes or portrays. Thus translation is a kind of construal. And the differences of perspective, prominence and scope are the basic reasons for the variety of meaning and translations. Perspective refers to the point of view the observer adopts to portray the object. It reflects the relationship between the observer and the object. We have the cognitive ability to confirm the attention and focus, which is restricted by the prominence theory. And scope refers to concept of domains which is activated when an expression comes down. Theoretically, they inseparably link up. Perspective presupposes prominence to some extent and scope can reflect prominence. This thesis combines prominence, perspective and scope as PPS model by the use of the abbreviations of such theories. The PPS model is applied for the studies on the translations of Li Bai' Wang Lu Shan Pu Bu and Jing Ye Si to try in humble to guide the analysis of the construal paths into a reasonable stage.
