Researches On Cultural Heritage Protection And Tourism Development In Fenghuang Ancient City

Historical cities carry with them profound cultural traditions and abundant information about the development of human societies. So it is the need of city modernity to protect these cites because they are the heritage all the human beings, which can consolidate the cultural identity and group cohesion. Historical cities are also a kind of sources which are limited and unreciprocal. Therefore, it is crucially important to protect them so that sustainable development can be achieved. With the rapid development of tourism, they have become more and more important for the new industry. Tourism has not only strengthened people's attention to the protection of historical sites, but has also provided advantages as for the following aspects, such as financial, technological and environmental. On the other hand, the conflict between tourism and the protection of historical sites is becoming more and more severe. Specifically speaking, the deficiency of tourism management results in the tension of historical sites'protection. Thus, how to solve the relationship between tourism development and the protection of historical sites is the critical point.This paper deals with the issue that is mentioned above by taking FengHuang City, a historical city as an example. With the convincing figures and facts based on the methodology of ethnography, the paper makes a thorough analysis of the city's protection to and development of the sites at present. It is found that the two aspects are effectively and mutually enhanced. But with the development of tourism, conflicts also appear. The reasons cover finance, technology, and modes of management. The application of investment portion management has greatly pushed the combination of the above two aspects. The present paper aims to analyze the modes of tourism management of FengHuang City and to provide more significant suggestions to the protection of other historical cities.
