Su Qing's legendary life experience is a noteworthy phenomenon in the literature history. She went through three stages: star writer in 1930s and 1940s, nameless in 1950s and 1960s, back in fashion in 1980s and 1990s. Why did she come under observation in first batch We should pay attention to this phenomenon. This dissertation, exclusive of preface and conclusion, falls into three parts:Chapter One: Su Qing's First Fame. This chapter reviews her two famous experiences: star writer in 1940s and back in fashion in 1990s. Afterwards, we analyze the causes from the perspective of the media and "Shanghai Writings".Chapter Two: Su Qing's Second Fame. This chapter holds the opinion that Su Qing's second fame corresponded to the era characters in 1990s. One is daily life writing and secular philosophy renewing popularity, while the other one is her "Shanghai image" conforming to "nostalgia for Shanghai".Chapter Three: Literary Craze on Su Qing. This chapter selects Guan Lu, an authoress with the similar experience, and explains why this epoch chooses Su Qing according to analysis on their similarities and differences. Then we probe into Su Qing's limitation and engage in introspection on it.As stated previously, this paper believes that, Su Qing's back in fashion benefits from similar characteristics between 1940s and 1980s in Shanghai and Shanghai' nostalgia for the side of 1940s' daily life.
