As one of the four famous painters in Yuan Dynasty, Wang Meng is famous for his landscape painting skills that surpasses his predecessors and ntprarans. He created such two painting skills as JiesuoCun and hairCun, and initiated a new landscape skills of dense body cells by using a unique combination of ink and the composition method in the Yuan Dynasty, which added a unique formal beauty to Chinese Landscape Painting. Wang Meng's landscape was boundless and beatiful with a range of styles, and he had the richest techniques of four outstanding painters in Yuan Dynasty. His works achieving a "complexity " in the extreme, Dong Qichang in Ming Dynasty praised him "Wang Meng has the most proficient Painting skills in Yuan Dynasty". His free brushwork with his high artistic attainment is closely related to artistic accomplishment, and his family background, individual talent and hard work create his outstanding achievements in the arts.This dissertation mainly studies characteristics of Wang Meng's Chinese landscape painting. Firstly, The author analyzes the root of his painting styles on the base of the following aspets:his specific historical background, social communication and the succession of skills, divides the course of his painting styles'changing and summarizes the different features in his different period. Secondly,The author summes up Wang Meng's ink characteristics and composition of "dense body landscape" by studying his specific paintings.Thirdly,The author elaborates his arstic realm under the realm of life doctrine of Mr.Feng Youlan. Finally, The author discusses his inspiration to future generations as well as his status and impact of art history, summe up the orthodox painters in Ming and Qing Dynasty influenced by him, analyzes their learning and acceptance of Wang Meng's ink techniques.
