Study On ShiJi ·Biography Of General Li

It's well known that ShiJi is a book of history and also a famous literary work. One of most famous articles in this book is Biography of General Li, which is also a representative of that dual nature of ShiJi. The dialectical unity between historiography and literary elements in this article is regarded as the breakthrough point in this thesis.In the exordium, we introduced current situation of research on Shiji. And we discussed the necessity and feasibility to compose this thesis. In chapter one, the thesis analyze the styles of Shiji's articles. We take biography of General Li as an example to explain how historiography and literary elements can be dialectical united in one article.Many researchers showed their great interest in the real reason why General Li couldn't be conferred marquis. They gave many explanations while we disagree from a lot of them. That caused a probe into the issue in chapter two. We drew the conclusion that in Sima Qian's opinion, both uncanny elements and hominine factors could have great influence in the developing of history and people's life. We find out that writing down the events in history and the contemporary era is the duty of official historian in Han dynasty .Based on the conclusions, we proved Shiji to be official history rather than private writing. At last, we summarized the process of analysis and the conclusion in briefly.On one hand, the thesis choices widely from arguments, on the other hand, it takes time and effort in researching historical facts. These are the innovation of this thesis.
