Guangxi Nixing pottery is a traditional arts and crafts. It has a history of over 1,300 years. In 1915 it won a gold medal in Panama International Exposition, and became one of the four most famous Chinese pottery. In 1997, the Guangxi Nixing pottery along with the Zhuang Jin Bei were put into the State Council Regulations on Protection of Traditional Arts and Crafts, and became two national treasure of Guangxi features. Into the 90s of last century, due to lack of fixing pottery designers, product style, development of innovative products, Nixing pottery jump into the valley under the impact of market. In 2000, under the support of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region government, Nixing pottery industry restored and developed at the time. With the development of world economy and revitalization of Chinese economy, the North Bay (Guangxi) Economic Zone became further opening up and developed, the culture and tourism industry developed rapidly. People have increasing demand for ceramics. Nixing pottery industry now has a rare opportunity for development.This article analyzed and compared the history of Nixing pottery, and explored its meaning and spirit. I analyzed several major problems which constraints current development of. Nixing pottery. Those problems are shortage of Design concept, lack of innovation skills, and lack of promotion on new designs. That makes the level of the whole industry inefficient and undeveloped. So I start with several major problems from the above study analyze the method of reform in design of Nixing pottery. I put forward new views and insights in modeling design, decorative pattern design, integrated design and implicit design.
