Along with the unceasingly development of modern Chinese vocabulary research, the scope of corpus research is expanding eventually, with Dunhuang literature becoming the object to which researchers gradually pay attention. Apart from Dunhuang Bianwen and Quzici, other Dunhuang literatures have also been studied, such as Dunhuang letters and the legal instruments, so research achievements are enriched day by day. However, only a few papers among them are related to the vocabulary studies of Dunhuang inscription literature. It is well known that inscriptions are of enormous research value because they are stored in caverns for 1000 years or more, with no chance to be revised. Therefore, all words and expressions are the genuine records, bearing the "Simultaneous" Corpus Features. Studying the literature vocabulary of this kind can help us understand the constitution and the constitution characteristics of the vocabulary of Donghuang inscription literature, moreover it can inform us the genuine language spoken in Donghuang area in Tang Dynasty. In addition, this paper may also contribute to the almost vacuum vocabulary research of Dunhuang literature and further improve the study of History of Chinese Vocabulary.Taking the vocabulary of Donghuang inscription literature as research object, this paper manages to find out the way of word formation and the formational characteristics and then verify and explain them from an overall perspective. In preface, Donghuang inscription literature and the present situation of its studies are introduced. So are its research value as "Simultaneous" Corpus, the importance of this study, and the difficulties and problems encountered in this research. The body part of this paper can be divided into three parts:the first part discusses the vocabulary compositional components and vocabulary characteristics of Donghuang inscription literature. The study of illusion words will be an important part of this chapter, because it is a typical feature of the inscription vocabulary that a great number of illusions are involved in it. Moreover, exploration of the new words and words of new meaning will be a main concern of this chapter. In the pursuit of this goal, Four Series, Si Ku Quan Shu, Chinese Studies Collection and Chinese full-text electronic search system are employed to search for these words. They mainly include general words, dialect words and foreign words at that time. Inscription literature is of relatively fixed style, different morphemes within one sentence bearing the same meaning, which is called "Clustering Words Synonymous." To explain these words, we will divide them into six categories to the standard of semantics, namely the types of Buddhism, Disease, Age, Monument, Parent, and Funeral. These words manifest not only the characteristics of inscription literature, but also the richness of Chinese vocabulary. At the end, while summarizing the constitution of these words and expressions, we will analyze their constitution characteristics as well. The second part discusses the practical value of inscription literature vocabulary from the perspective of application, that is, its supplemental role to "Chinese Dictionary" in the aspects of word collection, interpretation, illustration, etc. Mainly taking " Chinese Dictionary " as a reference system, this chapter will point out the insufficiency of " Chinese Dictionary " in such three sections as word collection, interpretation, and documentary evidence and make use of the inscription literature vocabulary to solve these problems. The third part will be the proofreading of "Collections of Donghuang Inscription Literature". The author points out and corrects some wrong records of words and punctuation. What's more, some unrecorded words originally existing in the inscription literature will be filled out by the help of the picture of the original inscription.
