The separation between man and nature results in the difficulty of existence of the global human being, which comes from the ontology of the dichotomy of subject and object in the western traditional philosophy, the value of "Is" and "Ought-to-be" and the the mode of industrial production in the modern time. Because of the Difficulty of the Existence, many responsible and conscientious scholars begin to reflect on the culture of the human being. The well-known American ecological ethicist Holmes Rolston is the representative, whose natural value is the theoretical foundation of the connection between man and nature. Based on the Natural Value of Holmes Rolston, the author of this thesis makes an analysis of the critical situation of the difficulty of the existence of the global human being and explores on the root of the difficulty. The author tries to cross the chasm between man and nature theoretically and practically, hence the ethnic idea of the harmony of man with nature based on the natural value can be formed.
