"Hua" is an important category throughout ancient Chinese philosophy and aesthetics. It originates from "The world is full of cloud and then everything begins to come into being", a sentence from (one of Chinese classic texts). It mainly has four meanings in ancient Chinese works. The first one is metaplasia, the second is changing, the third is civilization and the last one is materialization. This paper probes into the aesthetics meanings of the "Hua" category from these four aspects.
