A Study On Goldberg Variation Of Bach

Johann Sebastian Bach is a great German pianist and composer, and is the founder of the German musical nationalism. The researches into Bach and his compositions have long been ignored,not until recent years the situation has been changed with Bach receiving more and more worldwide attention. Nevertheless the study on his masterpiece Goldberg-Variations is very limited. The thesis mainly uses four research methods, each of which correspond with the main contents of respective chapters.1. The literature method, mainly studying the literature about the goldberg-variationen, in order to avoid duplicate researches and to begin the research with a higher jumping-off point.2. The analysis method, mainly analyzing the composing background and style of the suite in order to better understand and interpret the goldberg-variationen.3. The comparing methods, mainly comparing the sheet music editions to find out the origin intentions of Bach on this work, and comparing the records editions to understand the enchantment of goldberg-variationen4. The annotation methods, mainly pointing out the difficulties of the goldberg-variationen, and meanwhile putting forward feasible solutions to them, in order to make the thesis helpful to performers who intent to study this work.The most remarkable identity of the goldberg-variationen is its nationalism. The thesis mainly reveals the nationalistic characteristic form more specific aspects and analyses how to better interpret the masterpiece.
