Musical Life Patterns Visit Report Of Miaozhai Village, Huitong County, Southwest Of Hunan Province

Miaozhai Village is located in Huitong county Hunan Province with more than 70% population of Chinese minority. Along with the development of economy and society, the minorities in Miaozhai Village have gradually shared common cultural characteristics with Han ethnic group. This essay focuses on the musical society pattern of Miaozhai Village with foundation in field work. It describes and analyses the musical activities, such as Weeding song with drum, Buddhism music, drinking song etc, from the perspective of historical background, musical modality and local culture.Field studies and interviews are the main tools used during field work investigation. Direct and first hand materials are gathered through interviewing Miaozhai villagers, observing their behavior patterns in production and everyday life.This essay targets Miaozhai village musical activities, describing detailed processes and analyzing them from the perspective of ontology music. Meanwhile, together with the geographic environment and local cultural characteristics, Miaozhai village historical changes and society maintenance is also detailed analyzed, which gives a more comprehensive and objective description of Miaozhai Village musical patterns and reflects its cultural and historical values.The authors believe the musical patterns have changed significantly, under the influence of music, religion and culture from Han ethnic group. Society improvement and cultural changes directly impact the musical life patterns of Miaozhai villagers. The integration of ethnic characteristics and changes in production and everyday life are also a major cause of the loss of its traditional music cultures.This essay tries to dig the cultural connotation hidden under society activities through objective description and analysis of the musical and cultural activities in Miaozhai Village. This essay also lays a foundation for future research work.
