| Construction of Guangzhou Metro Line 1 commenced by the end of 1993. Guangzhou Metro Corporat i on was i n charge of the management of the whole project, including the project design, equipment buying and civil engineering. The organization was unitary structure. In 1999, Metro Line 1 put into operation. Great changes in tasks and responsibi I ities of the corporation have taken place with it. The former management system and management mechanism is no longer fit for the requirement of the present situation and the long-term development of the corporation. It is an advice of reorganization. Put forward the core-affiliated business and the mission of the corporation, and change the unitary structure to multidivisional structure.
