Plato and Anstotle are great thinker and poIitician in Greek, theirteacher-student relation decides their generality in some eXtent. For along time we put the studying emPhasis on their generality andneglect their differences between them. Through carefully studying,we find that they have great divergences in the political ideasbecause of their different source and thinldng way. Their confiictmanifest as "priori political philosophy" and "emPirical politicalscience". They result in the development of two kinds of politics, one is active political idea pursuing ultimate good, the other ispassive political idea eliminating evil. These tWo kinds of po1iticsproduce two ldnds of govemment system, the developing politicalsystem and the conservative political system, the former sings high1yof divinity, while the latter is the product of divinity-absence.Raionality in west9m tradition inevitably causes the split ofhuman nature, but produce the conflict of politics and ethic. Whenhuman being chase their dream, they face the cracking of the humannatue. Plato and Aristotle display the contradiction firstly. So the problem we meet during our studying of Plato and AIistotleis the problem of whole west politics. It is meaningfiJl and helpful tosolve the contradiction in politics and philosophy after we study theproblem deeply and carefully.
