In our country , family-owned enterprises came into being in the early times of market reform. After the development of more than 20 years , the family-owned enterprises have been useful parts of our national economics and done outstanding contribution to extending internal consume ^ increasing employment opportunities and promoting regional economics, at present, however ,our family-owned enterprises are facing two difficulties : the one is high rate of natural bankrupt and short lifespan . the other is small scale and short of competitive abilities . the reasons are not only related to social , economic and political factors , but also management obstacles in enterprises . our family-owned enterprises mostly adopt family management whose characteristic is that family members occupy the major posts > master operating and decision rights in enterprises , so the whole family runs all things .even through family management actually did good to the early development of enterprises , the defects increasingly are obvious and become obstacles preventing enterprises from expanding with the changes of economic environment. for example ,the shortcomings of the family-owned magnetic material enterprise located in north hot spring town are like theses : firstly ,family members occupy the major positions, so blood relationship replace management and this makes the enterprises a mess . secondly , personal decisions form patriarch style so that reduces the reasonableness of decisions .thirdly, only trusting family members makes the enterprises unable to attract and obtain the talents .as a result, the enterprise can not expand .in addition, there are many other problems in family management. for instances ,the abilities of manager are limited . the compositions of property rights are simple and the capacity of raising fun is finite etc. in a word ,in order to overcome the difficulties , conform requirement of the economic development and make enterprises bigger and more competitive ,the family-owned enterprises should bring forth new ideas.I think the family-owned enterprises should obey the principles during the innovation .that is the principles of entirety ^, value -. rationality, development and applying superiorities.
