Ideological and political work is one of our Party's fine traditions and political superiority, which has been confirmed by nearly eighty years of the Party's revolutionary struggle course. Looking back on history, ideological and political work had been making great contributions to the Party's growth and the causes of revolution and construction marching from one victory to another. During the different periods of Chinese revolution and construction, the three leading cores of the Party, Comrades Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping and Jiang Zeming, all highly emphasized on ideological and political work, and the identity has sufficiently proved that doing well in ideological and political work is an essential law to make the causes of revolution and construction achieve success. Today in a new century and during the key time of building Chinese-characterized socialism and further developing the policy of reform and opening, we must also abide by the law to enhance and improve ideological and political work.Under the direction of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory, by taking the Party's history as a thread, this dissertation overall expounds the historical development and experiences of the Party's ideological and political work by means of entity of history and logic, systematically summarizes its fine traditions, and deeply expounds and demonstrates succession to and innovation of its fine traditions by assisted with the new circumstances.This dissertation consists of 4 chapters. Chapter 1 simply describes the study significance and relevant study situation of this subject, and puts forward the study train of thought of this thesis. Chapter 2 gives more details of historical development and main experiences in the Party's ideological and political work during the different historical periods, including initial stage of founding the Party, period of China's Civil War, period of Anti-Japanese War, period of China's War of Liberation, early days of founding a new country and the days of socialism construction. Chapter 3 elaborates the main contents of.. fine traditions in ideological and political work, which are composed of 9 substances. They are (1) persisting in arming the mass minds with Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought as well as the Party's line and policy, (2) carrying out ideological and political work closely around the central task of the Party, (3)seeking truth from facts and convincing people by reasoning. (4) democratic work style of treating people equally, (5) launching criticism and self-criticism and putting the guiding principle of "unity-criticism-unity" into practice, (6) setting an example and earnestly practice what one advocates, (7) combining ideological instruction and solving the mass real problems by following the mass line and upholding the mass viewpoint. (8) the whole Party pitching in and taking charge of this work. (9) setting typical examples for people to follow them. In chapter 4, the author suggests that ideological and political work is our Party's "lifeline" and "central link", which must be carried forward and brought forth new ideas. According to such new situations and cases as the diversity of social life, the globalization of economy and information, the new struggle situation in the ideological sphere and so on. ideological and political work needs new ideas, and the work must adhere to the major principles as follows: (1) To correctly deal with the relationship of strengthening and improvement succession and innovation as well as creatively carrying out work based on strengthening and carrying forward. (2) To respect the mass initial creation spirit, further consolidate the consciousness of practice and unceasingly sum up and spread the new experiences of ideological and political work. (3) To adhere to realities, master the law and intensify the aim. (4) To make use of modem scientific technology and results of social science.
