The theme of this dissertation is about the blue print to construct a 21 century-oriented and Chinese-featured banking supervision system under the fully researching on the Core Principles for Effective Banking Supervision. According to the theme, the dissertation consists of 3 chapters: in chapter one the author emphasizes the importance of banking supervision as well as the historical, theoretical and comparative research on banking supervision. Chapter two focuses on the background of the Core Principles and the analysis of all the principles. In the third chapter the author discusses the status quo of banking supervision in China, the impact exerted by the Core Principles on Chinese banking supervision system and the choice of mode to set up the banking supervision system. In the end, the author expresses such a point of view that although the level of banking supervision in China has fallen behind that of the developed countries, there still exist some special advantages in our banking supervision system. As a result, we should take advantage of the Core Principles, and keep banking in China developing in a healthy and steady manner in 21 century.
