Research On The Innovation Environment Of Hong Kong Small & Medium Enterprises

Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play an increasingly important role of the economy in Hong Kong. Nowadays, SMEs face lots of challenges due to the increasing demand of new technology and market competition. This thesis herein analyses the present situation of the innovation environment and the cause of the problems arising from SMEs in Hong Kong. It also recommends the tactic and solution to tackle the problems according to the microscopic and macroscopic perspectives of the economy in Hong Kong.This thesis consists of four parts. Part One introduces the development and present situation of SMEs in Hong Kong. Part Two introduces the internal and external environment for the innovation environment of SMEs in Hong Kong. It also introduces the innovation theory and innovation environment along with the brief introspection of the internal and external environment of SMEs. Part Three provides a brief comparison of the development for the innovation environment between Hong Kong and Taiwan. From the study of the outcome for the comparison, a series of recommendations and solutions can be used to solve the existing problems for SMEs in Hong Kong. Part Four suggests the counter-measurement of the innovation environment in view of the microscopic and macroscopic economy for SMEs in Hong Kong.
