| From 1980's,the sustained rise of institutional investors mainly of Investment Funds,Pension Funds and Insurance Funds have brought about the deep revolutions in the international securities markets. The thesis analyzes why institutional investors came into being from the economics point of view and elaborates the expands of institutional investors at home and abroad. Then it compares domestic institutional investors' function with which of overseas institutional investors in their own markets and seeks the reason for it,further,discusses which style should be selected for the institutional investors of our institutional investors. Finally,it puts forward tentative measures for the institutional innovations of institutional investors. The thesis applies qualitative and quantitative analysis,and also positive and normative analysis,so that the conclusions are scientific and of theoretical guidance.
