Everyday, millions of trade happens in the world, which goes with logistics and information. In our country, however, the systemic logistics is contacted later and has an old idea. So, it is hard to achieve modern mode. With the prevalence of Internet, we attach much importance to Electronic Commerce (EC) as a new trade mode. Now, we have faced the new problem that how to combine logistics and information and how to convert traditional logistics mode into new EC logistics mode.Logistics information means a great deal of data interchange and disposing among uses. So, it is the key that realizes the data's interchange in different places. At present, our country realizes electronic data interchange by EDI which use the traditional value-added networks (VAN) to send message. In this way, the two communicates must be EDI users, and EDI message needs fixed affair aggregate and be disposed by the specifically software. Most of middle or small enterprises can't put EDI into practice for its complexity and expensiveness. So it confines the extensive application of EDI.This paper, combined with the research of education ministry, programs an information interchange system objected to a container harbor and mainly studies the Internet information interchange. Because Internet is being prevalent with amazing speed and attracting more and more consumers realize EC on it, we can realize EDI on Internet. Based on the comparison of Internet four modes of EDI, it introduces Extensible Markup Langrage (XML) to realize data interchange between relation databases and realizes the mapping of databases and XML documents by Structural Query Language (SQL). XML has a uniform data format largely decreasing the data cost of management and interchange. Also, XML supports structural data and allows the exchange between different format data. This system adopts the technology of three-tier Client / Server(C/S). On the client server, users can send order, query sailing date, access to databases, etc, to realize data interchange.Nowadays, Internet EDI is brewing and XML is explored. The paper's innovation is introducing XML information interchange mode which is cheap, global, simple and extensible. It can develop a deep research to meet harbor andenterprise EDI that is now using. In this way, our country's container transportation can more efficient, convenient and economical. We believe this technology must be largely developed in the field of logistics information interchange.
